Linda Scott said positions are
available for people who want
to work directly with han-
dicapped children and for
those who would like to use
their skills in other ways.
Volunteer jobs include play-'
ing with children, working
with them in the swimming,,
pool and helping with special
activities like art and music. ,t'

Galveston, the couple is at home
in Arlington.

brother of the bride, and Brent

Sharon Berry and David
Balke, both of Baytown, ex-
changed wedding vows in a dou-
ble ring ceremony Sept. 14 at
Memorial Baptist Church in
Baytown with the Rev. Mark
Brister officiating.
Parents of the bride are Ron-
nie Berry and Lieuvenia Berry,
both of Baytown. The groom is
the son of Wayne and Nancy
Balke of Baytown.
The bride chose a white gown
of French organdy designed with
an oval neckline. Her pouf lace
sleeves fell to ruffled cuffs. The
gown was trimmed with Vene-
tian cutwork laCe with scattered
motifs over the skirt, which fell
to a cathedral-length train. The
bride’s picture hat was made of
Floydella Rogers, member and past president of the Pilot
Club of Baytown, Inc., installed the 1986-87 officers of the club
at a cerenpny May 29 at Goose Creek Country Club, usipg the
Pilot International theme "In Tune With Today Tomorrow."
Dorothy Nell Ammons will be president; Marvon Babin,
president-elect; Mittie "Chic” Godwin, vice president; Judi
Craig, recording secretary; Flora McCluney, corresponding
secretary; Fureen Lerch, treasurer; anddirectors'AliceSmith,
Beulah Goodman, Gail McLaughlin. Paula O’Brien and Ida
Griffith. •
Mrs. Rogers presented each newly-installed officer with a
musical instrument as a symbol of her office.
The attendance and fellowship committee, chaired by Ruth
Richards, was in charge of arrangements. Other members of
the committee were Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Goodman, Gayle Guidry
and Audie Moore. ;
Past president Joyce Lannou gave the invocation and Mrs.
Godwin led the pledge of allegiance. President Griffith welcom-
ed the guests including Ruth Richers. second lieutenant gover-
nor, Texas District. PI; Elaine Kirkland, president of the Even-
ing Pilot Club: Dorothy Harrison, immediate past president of
the Evening Pilot Club; Fay Powell, member of the Evening
Pilot Club; co-pilots Alma Boettcher of Waller; Ann and Ed-
ward Frazier? Allison and Ray Huey: Nanda deSilva; Dar-
shana deSilva. and Dixie and George Bland
Jonna Cagle, accompanied by pianist Linda Hafer, presented
several musical selections for the program
Mrs. Ammons received a president's pin from Mrs. Griffith.
Mrs. Ammons in turn presented Mrs. Griffith with a past presi-
dent’s pin and immediate past president Mrs. Guidry gave Mrs.
Griffith a plaque for outstanding service rendered during 1985-

Judy Ford. The honoree receiv-
ed a coffee maker.

Credit Union by Darlene Slacks,
Gay Turner and Shirley
Tonkton. The honoree received a

Karen Berry and Brenda

received copper giftware for the
kitchen.
A bridesmaid luncheon was
held at the home of Doris Scar-
borough. She was assisted by co-

Evening Pilot Club
The installation of 1986-87 officers of the Evening Pilot Club of
Baytown, Inc., was held at the Holiday Inn. The invocation was
given by Y.M. Lannou, followed by the pledge of allegiance, led
by Alma White, patriotism leader. President Dorothy Harrison
J (.lieu welcomed ihe guests. 1 ’
Mrs. Harrison gave a summary of the work of the Club during
1985-86, her year as president. Musical selections were given by
Martha Lilly, accompanied on the piano by Paula Truitt. The
theme 6f the banquet was patriotism, and Mrs. Truitt played
patriotic music throughout the evening.

„ # Pilot International, presented a special plaque from the Even-
ing Pilot Club to native Baytonian Tom Harrison, now a prac-
ticing attorney in Houston. Harrison is working with the
Baytown Pilot Clubs and the Lifeline board on a foundation for
Lifeline.
Nine new members were initiated during Mrs. Harrison’s
year. She presented each of them with a yellow silk rose.
The installing officer was Nelda Krumm of the La Marque
Pilot Club. She is governor-elect of Texas District, Pilot Inter-
national. New officers are Elaine Kirkland, president; Betty
Comstock, president-elect; Anna Huff, vice-president; Phyllis ,
Lovell, treasurer; Sharon Phillips, recording secretary; Bever-
ly Burroughs, corresponding secretary; and Dorothy Harrison,
Sally Gann, and Alma White, directors.
Dorothy Sutphin, member of Baytown Pilot Club and chair-
man of "Pilot International Foundation, gave the Pilot code of
ethics.
Mrs. Harrison presented Lifeline Systems, Inc, certificates of
appreciation to Kathryn Odom, Ruth Richers and Jessie Clark.
These members represented the Evening Pilot Club on the
Baytown Pilot Club’s Lifeline board for 1982-85.
Mrs. Kirkland presented a plaque to Willadene Hines in ap-
preciation for the money she has donated to Lifeline through
the sale of Texas bluebonnet pins and grants from Exxon to
Lifeline. Miss Hines is an Exxon annuitant.
?Alma White, historian, presented the President’s Book for
1985-86 to Mrs. Harrison. Mrs. Kirkland presented her with a
past president’s pin and a gift from the club.
Special guests included Evening Pilot Club co-pilots and
Brett Burroughs; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Astley. Tom Harrison, An-
nette Richards; Grace and Ruth Lovell; Baytown Pilot Club
members Ida Griffith. Fureen Lerch, Dorothy Nell Ammons,
Donna‘Walker, Joyce Lannou and co-pilot Y.M. Lannou; and
' Rita Pate, member of the Pilot Club of La Marque^
The meeting was closed with a prayer by Y M. Lannou.
