Chris Gary, new minister of
youth and recreation at First
Baptist Church in Baytown,
says he decided at 16 that he
wanted to become a minister.
“It was at an encampment

The youth minister said he
was involved in a musical
during the encampment. “I
felt God moving through the
music.”
Although his family was ac-

him jokingly that the last two
careers he wanted him to
prepare for were police work
or the ministry.
