Bereavement support —
Bereavement support groups are
provided free of charge by the
Center for Hospice Care, a
department of San Jacinto
Methodist Hospital. Meetings
open to anyone are held from 6 to
7:30 p.m. on the second and
fourth Thursdays of each month
and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the
first and third Mondays of each
month. The Compassionate
Friends group meets from 7 to 9
p.m. on the fourth Monday of:
each month for bereaved parents,
grandparents and siblings. The
same group holds meetings for
bereaved siblings from 12 years
old through adults from 7 to 9
p.m. on the second Monday of
each month. Widows and widow-
ers meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on
the first Wednesday of each
month, and a dialogue on cancer
cosponsored by the American
Cancer Society for cancer patients
and family members is held from
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every
Wednesday. For more informa-

Memorabilia sought — Cedar
Bayou Junior School is putting
together a historical display case
with memorabilia contributed
from former students and staff.
Those who have memorabilia that
could be used in the display are
asked to bring it to the school’s

Lock-ins — The Baytown
YMCA is holding mini lock-ins
every Friday night for sixth
through ninth grade teens. Hours
are from 7 to 11 p.m. and fees are
$3 for YMCA non-members and

tion. Registration is also ongoing
for YMCA summer day camp,
teen adventure camp, swim
lessons, children’s aerobics,
karate, gymnastics and golf
