SANGHR, Texas, March 11. Failing in their
efforts to open a vault of the Guaranty State
Bank here today, robbers carried the night
watchman, Pack Hampton, into the woods and
tied him to a tree. Hampton was captured by the
robbers before they attempted to rob the bank,
and he was held a prisoner in the bank until re-
, moved to nearby woods by the robbers.
Hampton’s cries attracted passing motorists
about dawn, and he was released. The band of
robbers included four men and a woman, Hamp-
ton said. The yeggs failed to open the vault to
the hank when their acetylene torch broke.
Sanger is in Ihnton county.
