We would like to get in touch with

future.
Please drop me a card at Dilley,
Texas, if you are interested in Sac-
| red Harp Singing and if you have
any of the books ol the old four note

The Home Economics Department
of Cotulla High School is running
full tilt with three classes daily and
a live club on Tuesday.
We have added to our equipment
this year a pinking machine for use
in making tailored dresses and suits
in Home Economics II, as well as
replacing worn out and inadequate
equipment. This is the first year
that all three years of Home Econ-
omics have been offered. Home
Economics II and III have been of-
fered alternately in past years. This
change necessitated more equipment
and we appreciate cooperation of the
school board in complying so ade-
quately with our needs.
The aim of our Home Economics
Department, both classes and club,
is to develop a group of ideal girls—
i ideal for the place that they must
fill today and later.
1. To develop personality, leader-
ship, initiative and social poise, in
the home and community.
2. To develop a feeling of re-
sponsibility on part of each girl in
her home.
3. To develop good taste in
(1) Personal appearance for all
occasions.
(2) Actions in Public, school. Home
and church.
(3) Choice of friends. 1
(4) To develop ability to plan and
prepare a balanced diel for the aver-
age family a* well as special diets
'for the young, aged and invalids.
These are state wide aims of Home
Economic instructions and in April
there will be held a State Home-
making Rally of three days period,
at which prizes will be awarded to
girls outstanding in acquiring above
aims, and we are planning to attend
this Rally, as well as the three dis-
trict club meetings and one state
club meeting, and have begun our
finance program to make these
trips possible to a number of girls.
We take our first trip this Saturday,
12th, to district club meeting in Pear-
sall. Seventeen girls plan to attend.
We have a wonderful depattment
and it is going to be better.
