Revival Meeting
Bro. Marvin G. Cole will be
with us for the Revival period
Nov. 13-27, being present for the
first Sunday of the meeting and
staying through the Sunday night
service Nov. 27. The following is
a word from Bro. E. J. Daniels,
Pastor First Baptist church, Fair-
field, Alabama: “In May of 1946,
Evangelist Cole conducted a Re-
vival for us in the First Baptist
Church of Fairfield, Alabama. We
have had some of the greatest
evangelists of our nation, includ-
ing Hyman Appuleman, Hankins,
Rice, and others. Dr. Cole ranks
at the top with them. Under God
he gave us one of the greatest
Revivals we have ever had. With-
out reservations I can recommend
Bro. Cole to any church of any
size. He has a dynamic person-
ality both in and out of the pul-
pit. He preaches the pure Gos-
pel with Great power.”
Dr. Poss, of Goliad and P'astor
of the First Baptist church there,
; will arrive on Monday night, No-
vember 14, to lead the singing for
us. Some of us have already heard
him sing so he will not be new
to that number and which same
number already know what he can
do with the music side of the
service.
New Members
Thursday night, October 27j 1949,
Mr. Casimiro Villareal and Teo-
dora Castillo were welcomed into
the church by a hearty handshake
by the members who were pres-
ent for the meeting. They had
been voted in absentia into the
membership of the church on the
previous Sunday morning. On the

Yes, housework can really be
child’s play when you call "
on electricity to help you.
Flip a switch, and electric
service rushes to your aid to
wash and iron, cook and
clean and sew—even to
amuse you while you work.
Jit’s so dependable you can
take it for granted, around
the clock and around the
calendar—yet this hard-
working service costs the
average family less than a
pack of cigarettes a day. \
Your friends and neighbors
in this company* under
sound business management^
have used their skill and
experience to make
electricity the smallest
item in your family budget
—and the hardest working.
What else gives you so f
much real living value-*'
at so little cost? ,
pression ratios as fast as better fuels
came along.
So perhaps you’ll want to remember,
when you hear the term ‘‘valve-in-
head,” that this is the type of power,
that made Buick famous.
If others want to climb on the band-
wagon, we say “more power to them”
—and no pun is intended.
But Buick has been doing more with
yalve-in-head right from the start.
And-we might add-it stands to rea-
son that Buick is not through making
this type of engine better and better.
for maximum power from every drop
of fuel—and every maker of internal
combustion airplane engines adopted
the valve-in-head principle.'
And more~recently—with the hope
that higher-octane fuels will become
available for motor cars—a lot of auto-
motive engine designers are taking a
new look at the valve-in-head idea.
But just for the record, we’d like tQ
point out that Buick got there first,
And ever since, Buick has gone steadily
ahead, building up a name as “valve-in-
headquarters.” Buick engineers re-
shaped pistons to put Fireball wallop
in these engines. They stepped up com-
jf you want to know what’s “the new-
J_ est thing” in automobile engines,
look at the Buick engine pictured here,
and you’ll see the words “valve-in-
head.” t}
But it happens that this isn’t new with
Buick. As a matter of fact, the valve-in-
head engine was invented back in 1902
~U. S. Patent No. 771095-and imme-
diately, Buick adopted the principle,
yyhich became the first in a long string
pf “Buick firsts.”
Not everyone went for the idea—then.
In spite of the fact that this engine
“breathes” more freely—gets fuel in
and exhaust gases out more easily—
others hung onto their pet ideas.
