Dear editor and readers: As I
have not written to the dear old
Gazette in about a year or more,
t thought that £ .would write few
lines today.
Plowing is the only thing now,
but almpst.all the people are
through. Soine are not through
yet with pickirlg cotton.
On Friday, night was .given a
birthday party to Mr. John
Lukas, pis age .was 0 years.
Many of bis friends were leaking
his birthday happy, at night was
given a dance. Those present
were Mr, and Mrs.JoeCizek and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Mikeska
Mr. and Mrs. Bortei and family,
Mr. and.Mrs. John J3alusek and
family, JVIr. and Mrs. Matus and
family, -Mr. and Mrs. ,Fragk
Bargs and family.
A son of Mr. Fr^gk Paros was
kicked, in the head by a horse
last Sunday, in Mr. Wm, Herders
pasture and very badiy injured.
Dr.,0ray was. called in to dress
the.gound.

Most all of the farmers are
busy plowing. Some are still

Norther will soon be here again.
We are. very sorry ip hear of
the serious illness of Mrs. Karl
Rend, she has improved very
little at this writing.

I hayc not written for some time
will try again to scratch up some
news from our section.
The weather is nice and warm
now, the farmers are all busy
and they will soon be planting
coni.
Mr, L. Kendall planned some
.corn last Thursday.
There are a few here on the
sick list. Mrs. Ed. Hanzlik was
sick for two weeks, but doing
fine today.
Dr. <CJ.nL. Kopecky was called
to Mrs. Joe Polasek last Thurs-
day morning.
Mr. L. Matyas and Miss Mary
Pustka were mar rub last week,
the wedding was at his father’s
home near Terry viHe, and many
of his friends attended.
Mr. SI Jaks, Jr. was in Gon-
zales one day last week on busk
ness.
Mr. A. F. Domak and Sister
Mary, of Harwood, visited with
their brother, Mr. F. Domak.
Mr. A. Sinderman will build a
new saloon and Wm. Ogston will
, build a new house.
M. Pesek, Sr. and daughter
Miss Betfcie, spent last Saturday
and Sunday at Oak Forest with
their friends.
J. C. Winklareh celebrated his
birthday yesterday and at night
they had a dance at his home,

is up again and getting along
fine:

at Kokernot school on February

were visitors at the home of Mr.
and Mrs,. J, Erdel.
The Misses Annie and Emma
Peter spent Sunday with their
friends the Misses Barre.
Those that were visiting the
home of Frank Maresh were as

Mr. Koholqr was shopping in

Mr. Frank Maresh and family
visited the home of Joe Ed el, Sr.,
Mr. Jos. Erdel and family also
visited.
We have been having some
nice warm summer-like days.
Hope we don’t- have any more
freezes.

Dear'editor-and readers: How
are you all enjoying these days?
We have had some nice weather
for a few days, but it looks now
as if it is going to rain again.
There was a masquerade ball at
Winner hall on the 2,7th. Wonder
how,it turned out, as Red Rose
did not .attend?
The sad news reached our com-
munity on January ljth of the
death of Mrs. M. A. G. Moore, of
Dryer, aged 75 years.
Mrs. Moore had been in bad
health for some time and her
death was due to paralysis.
Mr. R. G. Dreyer was seen in
our midst Saturday and Sunday,
looking after his farm.
Mr. John Ganiam, of Gonzales,
passed through here today en-
route to Hochheim.
Well as news is scarce I will
ring off, much success to the
editor and readers.

Mr. and Miss Orsak were Mr. Fr.

Julie and Annie Yahalik. Miss Annie

Zapalac.
Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Yahalik left for
Smithville Saturday to visit their

Mr. Fr. Marek spent Sunday eve
with his friend Mr. Louis Zamazah

in our community.
Miss Agnes Kavanagh spent a few
days with her sister Annie.
Mr. Louis Zaraazal went to see his
best last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fr. Bolech visited the

week. It reminded us of the good <qld

Mrs. Chas. Boeer and children,, of
Floresville, have been here visiting
her brothers, August ,and Henry
Reichard, the past week.
Messrs. Julius Dreyer and Ohas.
Malina went over to Cheapside last
Friday on business.
Our school has been dismissed for
two weeks on account of the meningitis
scare.
Mrs. Chas Wendt visited with
Henry Beichard and family Tuesday.
Mrs. John Hirscb and son, Max,
were in Shiner Thursday shopping,
R. A. Dreyer and wife are the proud
parents of a little baby boy we con-
gratulate.
Miss Ella Dreyer spent last Friday
with her cousin Miss Annie Dreyer.
Frhz Miller made a business trip to
Cuero last Saturday.
Messrs. Willie Henkhaus and Ed,
Wendel were mingling with friends
here Sunday.

letters are fine.
Adolph Klaus and son, of Cheap-
side, were here during the past week
attending to business.
George Turk made a trip to Gon-
zales Thursday.
The mask ball at Turner hall last
Saturday night was a grand success.
Emil Dreyer and Max Henkhaus
were visiting Willie Krause Sunday.
Mr. Hermnan Dreyer, ot Yoakum,
was seen in our midst Friday.
