Comments from the Alumni Association President
To paraphrase The Price is Right, "Come on Home!" Homecoming '94 is nearly
upon us and the Alumni Association, the faculty, staff and
students are ready for you to be a part of the HSU experi-
ence-again. As you will read elsewhere in this issue, we're
planning to have a great time at Homecoming.
Speaking of a great time, I hope that you're having one -
reading the "new improved" Range Rider. One of my goals as
alumni president was to upgrade the Range Rider visually as a
communications medium for HSU alumni and other friends.
This is our first effort, with expanded features and informa-
tion, including an expanded "Folks and Facts." We will be
looking forward to hearing your comments.
Let me thank Deann Styles for serving as interim alumni
director this summer. Our new director is Loraine Hendrix.
Loraine was an HSU student from '65 to '67. She has been
involved in higher education for many years, most recently as
director of academic advisement at McMurry University. We John Best '72
welcome Loraine back to the campus. (See story on page 2.)
After several weeks of remodeling, the HSU alumni office has moved back into
Compere Hall, located at the campus entrance. (Alumni Relations, Development and
Media Relations are under the University Advancement umbrella.) When you are on the
campus, please stop in and see us. While you are on campus, also stop by the HSU
Bookstore which has moved to the Moody Center, first floor.
Finally, we hope you'll keep in touch with the alumni association. Write, call or fax
us. I'm looking forward to seeing you at Homecoming.HARDIN-SIMMONS UNIVERSITY PAGE 1
