Southerns react widly
Students at TLC awoke to a
rather unusual surprise Thursday
morning. Approximately one inch
of snow covered the campus,
which is about a once in every
five year experience.
Classes were not dismissed of-
ficially; however, many profes-
sors did not make it to the campus
on time.
Many students took time out on
their way to class or the dining
hall to throw a snowball or two.
A few students even got involved
in rather vigorous snow fights.
Three students were seen "skat-
ing" down the ice covered street
leading to the library.
A group of students were stand-
ing by the chapel admiring the
snow and one girl exclaimed,
"This is the first snow I've seen!"
TLC students from southern states
were thrilled and excited about
"the white stuff." Northern stu-
dents were quite placid about the
whole affair; some even com-
plained about the poor quality of
the snow. Everyone cannot be
pleased.
Interim exchange students will
probably never believe that TLC
students usual ly do not wear coats
during most of the winter. At
least, it is still warmer here than
Augustana or St. Olaf.
The sun is supposedly on the way
at the time this article is being
written. Anyone for a dip in the
river?
