Second Democratic Primary, 1952--County Table
There was only one race in the second Demo-
cratic primaryy,. Aug. 23, 1952=for Associate Jus-
tice of the Sipreme ,.Court, Place 1. However, a
run-off would have been held in the race for Con-
gressman at Large since Martin Dies barely failed
to get a majority. His opponent, John Lee Smith,
withdrew, but too late for names to be taken from
the ballot. Dies' vote is recorded below, as can-
vassed by the State Democratic Executive Com-
mittee. Snth's scattered vote, despite his with-
drawal, is not recorded.Associate Justice,
