Rehearsals for Coleman County
Choir Christmas Cantata
Jesse Lotspeich Choir Director announces
rehearsals are to begin for the Christmas Can-
tata. The cantata this year is “Night of The Fa-
ther’s Love” by Pepper Chopin. Rehearsals will
begin Wednesday, September 20, at 7:00 P.M.
in the First United Methodist Church choir
room. The performances are scheduled for the
evenings of Saturday, December 9 and Sunday
December 10. All who love to sing are invited
to come and to bring a friend!
Coleman County Choir is sponsored by Cole-
man First United Methodist Church and its
pastor Wayne Lewis.
• Coleman Museum and the Gallery at Heri-
tage Hall are open every Friday and Saturday
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• Circle C Cattlewomen meet the second Tues-
day of the month, September - June at 12:00
p.m. in the Mrs. J.A.B. Miller Library.
• Coleman Farmer’s Market - every Saturday
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
• Coleman Business People’s Association meets
the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the
conference room at the Coleman County Cham-
ber of Commerce.
• Coleman Livestock Auction - every Wednes-
day 11:00 a.m.
• Loaves and Fishes serves hot meals every
Tuesday and Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
and the Food Pantry is open the 1st and 3rd
Monday of the month, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Departments to enter include quilting, knit-
ting, crocheting, needlework, embroidery,
clothing construction, crafts, food preservation,
food preparation, photography and Grandpar-
ents’ Brag. All work exhibited must be made
by Coleman County residents. All must be the
work of the exhibitor and must have been com-
pleted within the last 12 months.
Entries will be accepted between 4:30 p.m.
and 6:30 p.m. Friday October 6 and again be-
tween 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Saturday Oc-
tober 7 at the Bill Franklin Center. Exhibitors
are responsible for completing an entry form
for each item entered. No more than 3 entries
per person may be entered in each class of
each department.
Following judging, exhibits will be open to
the public until 2:00 p.m. Entries should be
picked up there at 2:30 p.m. Any items left will
be taken to the count Agri Life extension office
at the courthouse for pick up on Monday of the
next week.
Further information may be obtained by call-
ing the office at 325-625-4519. Exhibits are
sponsored by the Good Neighbor County Ex-
tension Education Association (CEEA) Club.
Director Victoria Garcia and the Youth
Group are now accepting donations of new
or used items for their yard sale in conjunc-
tion with the Lord’s Acre to be held Saturday,
October 28 at Coleman First United Method-
ist Church. Items of all sizes are being ac-
cepted. Call or text Lord’s Acre Coordinator
Terrilyn Taylor at 325-214-0697 to arrange
drop-off.
The proceeds from the Lord’s Acre events will
all go back into the community. Recipients
will include Coleman Senior Center, Meals on
Wheels, Loaves and Fishes, CASA, and Cole-
man FUMC Preschool Scholarships.

Love From the Heartland, Hurricane Harvey
disaster relief concert will be held at the Cole-
man Rodeo Grounds on Saturday, September
23. Gates open at 2:00 p.m. with the concert
starting at 3:00 p.m. The lineup includes Clay
Shelburn, Aaron Copeland, Donnie Evetts,
Doug Burks, Four Barrel, Colton Fox Acoustic
Show, The Remedy, and A.W. Rose. Tickets are
$10 at the gate with a $10 cooler charge. 100%
of the proceeds will go to the HEB Disaster Re-
lief Fund.

• Immunization and Flu Clinic for children with
Medicaid, no insurance, or underinsured, and
adults with no insurance will be held Wednes-

The Coleman ISD Hall of Honor was estab-
lished to recognize members of the Coleman
ISD’s family who have distinguished them-
selves as outstanding contributors to Coleman
ISD or whose life achievements have brought
honor and value to the district.
For the purpose of the Hall of Honor, Cole-
man ISD is defined as any public school that
was located within the current boundaries of
Coleman ISD. Those public schools could in-
clude but are not limited to Coleman ISD, Nov-
ice ISD, Burkett ISD, Humphrey High School
and/or Silver Valley.
Student Qualifications - Coleman ISD is for-
tunate to have numerous alumni that have
made significant contributions or received
great honors while as students or after they
have left Coleman ISD.
• Nominee must be an ex-student of Cole-
man ISD for at least 10 years.
• Nominee must be out of high school at least
ten years;
• Has received honors, awards, etc. on a local,
regional, national and or international level
• Has made meritorious contributions to so-
ciety in general, or to a specific segment of so-
ciety
• Nominee, or family member if deceased, will
be expected to attend the festivities for the day;
and
• Nominee must possess good character
throughout their lives.
Distinguished Service

ness people and elected officials have made
significant contributions to the development
and improvement of Coleman ISD.
• If a district employee, must have worked for
at least 5 years in Coleman ISD. 5 years must
have passed from the time the Nominee was
employed or served Coleman ISD.
• Contributed substantial and significant
support to Coleman ISD specifically and edu-
cation in general.
• Has received honors, awards on a local, re-
gional, national and/or international level
• Has made a significant contribution to the
improvement of society.
• Developed relationship with district and
community members to foster a learning com-
munity.
• Nominee, or family member if deceased, will
be expected to attend the festivities for the day;
and
• Nominee must possess good character
throughout their lives.
Nominations should be submitted by Novem-
ber 1, 2017. Nominations can be mailed to:
