DAYLIGHT COMES, I GOTTA MOVE ON
As I sit to ponder what I wil write about this week, the sky gets
darker--* always gets darker just before daylight, rd read all the
papers, drank a pot of coffee, when GEORGE DIKES popped
in at dayfight GEORGE always makes a statement and asks a
question al the same time. *1 see you're istentog to your Cajun
music?" "How's the bird's wing?" "Doc released BIRD this
week." I answered "I'm listening to TOMMY and TEE BRUCE
every Sunday. TOMMY just got back from vacation in Florida'
’Who?" asked GEORGE "Forget H. * I said "I got several cans
on the Chippendale write up." he said. "I don't believe you can
do the Chippendale act." I said. He demonstrates to Cajun
music, fuly dressed, of course "Not bad GEORGE, tor a senior
citizen.' I replied He leaves I've hurt his feelings PATTI

A GREAT SHOW
Weren't the Olympics to Atlanta great7 A shame it was marred
by the pipe bomb and the shooting of two National Guardsmen
I'll never forget MICHAEL JOHNSON winning the 400 and the
200. First girl's basketball gold. DAVID REED, 156-pounder
tighter, winning gold with a last minute knock-out. Gymnastics
was great. Dream Team basketball not up to expectations, the
diving, swimming and O'BRIAN winning the decathlon All in all
it was as good as you can expect Forty-four golds, over a
hundred medals. Can't wait to get an on-the-scene report from
DR. ARLENE TURKEL. who has been in Atlanta with husband.
RICHARD, the past three weeks Everyone has done a good job

WHAT A JOKE
I noticed some of the other publications continue to do a
promotion where, supposedly, readers vote for the best The
best of everything From boudain to the best funeral home, and
everything in between. Don't you find it ironic that qyery
advertiser is named number one in something? Why do you
think that is? How many people do you believe really voted?
Have you? Do you know anyone who has? Means absolutely
nothing Can you imagine a contest in Orange County where
writers H.D. PATE, LOUIS DUGAS, DAVID IVY, ARLENE
TURKEL, SKIPPER FREE, PATTI HANKS, ED LOVELACE,
GORDON BAXTER, MAX PHILLIPS, KATHY LORMAND,
CHESTER MOORE, DESHA JONES, ROBERT VAIL, ROY
DUNN, ANN GRAY- ANN GRAY? How did she get in here?--
and of course SHERLOCK BREAUX, none of the above even
getting an honorable mention in the best wntercolumnist
category? Since the whole thing is a big joke anyway, let's all
vote for JOEL STIERMAN as the best all around cowboy
OUR CONDOLENCES

BEARDEN looked the same as always FRED and beautiful
wife. JUNE, came in for dinner, prompting BEARDEN to ask if
