BAILEY WILL NOT
SPEAK IN BALLINGER
Impossible for Senator Bailey to Fill Oth-
er Engagement and Speak at Bal-
linger
All efforts to get the Bailey
campaign Committee to give
Ballinger a date on Senator Bai-
ley’s itinerary has failed. A tele-
gram from Mr. Ousley, the chair-
man of the Committee, says it is
impossible to arrange dates for
Ballinger. .
Mr. Bailey is in great demand
over the’ state and every town
in the state of^any consequence
is trying to get him. Of course he
can’t cover the entire state in the
short time and it is best that he
go where he is most needed.
Ballinger is decidedly a Bailey
town, and to visit here would
accomplish no purpose futher
than to give his many supporters
an opportunity to hear him speak.
He will be at San Angelo on
April 9th, and will speak some
time in the forenoon, and appli-
cation for a spcial train has been
filed with the Santa Fe. and it
is pretty certain that same will
be secured and in this event
many will go up to hear him.
A low rate will be made for the
cccation and the train will leave
Ballinger in time for the crowd
to hear the speech and return on
the afternoon train,
The people are inviting Sen-
ator Bailey by letter by wire
and by phone to come to this
place and that place to speak,
while his opponents are stump-
ing the state on their own hook,
going to places without invita-
tions and in many places will ex-
perience trouble in securing a
crowd. There is a difference
not so much in the hospitality of
Texas people, but in the men in
question.
WILL NOT LET HIM SPEAK
School Trustees Refuse to Permit Joel S.
Graves to Use School House on
Sunday
This is to inform all concerned
that there will be no speaking
at the New Home School-
house on the “Principles of
Unionism’’ by Joel S. Graves on
Sunday.
We, the undersigned trustees
of this district, have ruled that
the New Home School house is
open on Sunday to those who
wish to conduct religious sendees
therein; but is expressly closed
against any party or parties de-
siring to discuss political or other
secular subject on Sunday.
The people here will not tol-
' erate Mr. Graves or anyone else’s
making on such subjects on
day; it being in their opinion
ecration of the Sabbath Day.
