COMMISSION HEARING
RESULTS
The City Council of Yoakum as the
Building and Standards
Commission's Second Panel held a
public hearing on Thursday, June 6,
2003 at 6 p.m. in the Council Room of
the Public Works Building, 900 Irvine,
behind City Hall. The purpose of the
hearing was to assess compliance to
the City's Unsafe Building Abatement
Ordinance, and the Commission's
previous directives to abate viola-
tions. The Commission may fine and
order action to abate nuisasnee con-
ditions and violations of the City's
minimum property standards. The
following properties were reviewed:
Lots 9,10 and part of 8, Block 11^1,
Yoakum Townsite Addition (608 W.
Grand Ave.). Lot(s) 5 and Part of 4,
Block 7 (NCB 1119), Parker Heights
Addition (102 Arnold St.). The Coun-
cil gave the owners a specific time
frame in which to bring the property
up to minimum standards. The viola-
tions on the properties are structural,
fire hazard, health hazard and gen-
eral nuisance related. For additional
