Heaven's Armies! The whole
earth is filled with his glory!
Their voices shook the Temple
tire building was filled with
smoke. Then I said, "It's all
over! I am doomed, for I am a
sinful man. I have filthy lips,
and I live among a people with
filthy lips. Yet I have seen the
King, the Lord of Heaven's
Armies." Then one of the sera-
phim flew to me with a burn-
ing coal he had taken from the
altar with a pair of tongs. He
touched my lips with it and said,
See, this coal has touched your
lips. Now your guilt is removed,
and your sins are forgiven."
Isaiah realized that he was sin-
ful before God, with no hope of
measuririg up to God's standard
of holiness. When Isaiah's lips
were touched with a live burn-
ing coal, however, he was told

There were two men in a box-
ing match and one of the men
just beat the other man to
pieces. Well, after about 3
matches, it was very clear that
the young man needed to get
more help than he had been get-
ting in order to pinpoint the spe-
cific areas of improvement.
When the young man was ap-
proached he responded. ''There
is nothing wrong with the way
I fight and I certainly am in no
need of any assistance from
you or anyone else. I am fine
just the way I am."
Does this mind set sound fa-
miliar? Are we just like the
young boxer? Do we think that
things arejust fine the way they
are? Are we going through this
life trying to live our life on our
own? Do we find ourselves
shutting God out? We must
understand that our disobedi-

that his sins were forgiven. It
wasn't the coal that cleansed
him. but God. Here’s a very
important thing to notice.
Isaiah, in response to the touch,
submitted himself entirely to
God's service.
Our daily frustrations,
society's pressures, and our
shortcomings narrow our view
of God. We need the Bible's
view of God as high and lifted
up to empower us to deal with
our problems and concerns.
God's moral perfection, prop-
erty seen, will purify us from
sin, cleanse our mind of our
problems, and enable us to
worship and to serve him all the
days of our lives.
If we truly want the power
that Jesus Christ has for us. we
must be truly cleansed as Isaiah
was. confessing our sins and
submitting to God's control.
Letting God purify us may be
painful, but we must be puri-
fied so that we can truly repre-
sent God. who is pure, holy and

Powerfill or Powerless?
ence will cause us to be pow-
erless because of the lack of
Christ in our life.
If we want to be powerful
for Jesus Christ we must be
like Isaiah. Isaiah's vision was
his commission to be God's
messenger to hK people.
There are times in our lives,
just like Isaiah's life when the
missions we will be given will
be difficult. Isaiah had to tell
people who believed they were
blessed by God that God was
going to destroy them because
of their disobedience.
Let's read Isaiah 6:1-8: "It
was in the year King Lzziah
died that 1 saw the Lord. He
was sitting on a lofty throne,
and the train of his robe filled
the Temple. Attending him
were mighty seraphim, each
having six wings. With two
wings they covered their faces.
