Nels C. Magnuson, former
Stamford resident and Super-
visory Civil Engineer with the
Wilmington District Army
Corps of Engineers, was hon-
ored recently.Jat retirement

Magnuson received a B. S.
degree in Agricultural Engine-
ering from Texas A&M in 1924.
His Federal’service began in
Austin as a junidr engineer in
steam gauging work with the
Dept, of Interior in 1933. He
has Worked wiih the Corps of
Engineers’ Baltimore District,
the Charleston District and
was promoted and transferred
to the Wilmington District in

of the busiest seasons of the
