tion Medal while serving with

stock was set for Wednesday,

The cotton queen contest will
be under the ^supervision of
Mrs. Stuart Propst of Anson
and the entertainment will be
under the-leadership-of Dol-
ris Dean of Anson. All ques-
tions relating* to these two div-
isions should be directed to the, -
respective superintendents.

and show schedule will be
planned later.
Interning ait St. John’s— . . -
Miss Doris. Hall, a religion major at McMurry Col-
lege, has been assigned to work in the Academic
Intern program at the St. John’s United Methodist
• Church for the summer. Miss Hall, whose home is
in Los Alamos, N. M., will receive oh the job train-
ing for a church related vocation and will assume
responsibilities for visiting, program planning, aha
teaching. This is the second year that Rev. Sharp
and the Methodist Church have participated in the
intern training program.
Sing at Six Flags
The Stamford High School
Class of ’67 is being represent-
edin Six Flags this summer
by Miss Edie Hudson and C.
E. Bunk'ev III. Both are Uni-
versity of Texas (Austin) stu-
dents chosen as entertainers
for The Crazy Horse Saloon in
the park.
Miss nudson, the daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Ike Hudson of
Stamford, will be a senior at
UT this fall. She sings- with a
group of-three boys and three
girls at Six Flags. The group
works the evening shift, 4-L0
p. m., allowing Miss Hudson to
attend summer school in the
mornings at the University of
Texas in Arlington. ' x"
This is Miss Hudson’s second
year at Six Flags. She has
been appearing on weekends
since April 1 of this year.
Bunkley will fee working with
a group of six singers and ac-
companists during the day
shift at the Crazy Horse. He is
also going to be a senior at UT
in the fa 1 and plans to gradu-
ate next year with a degree iff
Radio and Television Commun-
• Rations.
Both singers have worked
with a singing group at the
school t for three”years, “The
Varsity Singerj.” In December
of 1969,-*’they*Jourod the Car-
ritdan with this group on a
USO tour.

Bill Williams, long-time groceryman, works one of the five checkstands in the

Bill Williams, major stock-
holder and manager of City
Grocery, Market and Discount
Store, began his career in the
grocery business in 1937 with
Gray Brothers in Stamford as
a market man.
Williams moved to* Stamford
in , 1935 from Oklahoma City,
Okla. He was then employed
by Wilson and Co.
In 194S, Williams bought
Gray Brothers Grocery and
Market on Hamilton and
changed the name to City Gro-
cery and Market He moved to
the South Swanson facilities in
I960.
“We saw the need for more
room in the grocery depart-
ment,” he said, “and-decided
it would lie a good time to add
a discount store department to
the stock.”
Williams contacted Clarence'
Moritz, a local contractor, and
told him what he wanted to
