Frosting
1/2 cup butter
1 cup firmly packed brown
sugar
1/4 cup whipping cream
2 1/2 cups sifted confection-
er’s sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt butter in saucepan. Add
1 hour and
25 minutes.
Cool in pan
for 10 min-
utes; remove
from pan,
cool com-
pletely on
wire rack.
Frost and
garnish with
pecan halves.
Special Apricot Pies
1 (6-oz) package dried apri-
cots
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup butter or margarine,
softened
4 oz package cream cheese,
softened
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Chop apricots. Combine
apricots, water, nutmeg and
vanilla in small saucepan. v D

ball. Roll dough and cut into 2
1/2-inch circles. Place 1 tea-
spoon apricot mixture on half
of circle. Fold over and press
edges to seal. Prick top of pie.
Place on ungreased baking
sheet. Bake at 350 F for 18
minutes or until golden brown.
Glaze with the following:
1 cup sifted confectioner’s
sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon butter-flavored
extract
Combine all ingredients in
small bowl.

After the marshmallow mix-
ture, whisk in the buttermilk,
eggs and vanilla until well
ring constantly for five min-
utes. Set aside.
Beat butter and cream cheese

2 2/3 cups sugar, divided
8 eggs, separated
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup half and half
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pecan halves
Cream butter, gradually at 2
cups sugar, beating at medium
speed until light and fluffy.
Add egg yolks, one at a time,
beating after each addition.
Add flour to creamed mix-
ture, alternating with half and
half, beginning and ending"
with flour. Stir in vanilla.
Beat egg whites until foamy.
Gradually at remaining 2/3 cup
sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time,
beating until stiff peaks form.
Fold into batter. Pour batter
into tube pan; bake at 325 F for brown sugar; cook over low
