The Lee, Channelview and North Shore
coaches met Thursday and set starting
times for possible tiebreaker games,
which will be Saturday at Sterling High
School.
If it’s a three-way tie for third, Lee and
North Shore will play at 10 a.m. Saturday,
with the winner taking on Channelview at
about noon. The winner of the second
game will claim the third-place playoff
seed and if the Lee-North Shore winner
beats Channelview, then Channelview
would have to play the Lee-North Shore
loser, also Saturday, for the fourth-place
playoff berth.
If Lee winds up a fourth-place tie with
North Shore, the one-game tiebreaker
will begin at 11 a.m. If Lee winds up in a
fourth-place tie with Channelview, that
one-game tiebreaker will start at noon.
Meanwhile, Sterling and West Brook
have tentatively set a tiebreaker game for
playoff seeding at 4 p.m. Monday, with
the site still up in the air.
In District 19-4A, Dayton and Crosby
appear headed to a second-place tie and,
if it happens, those two teams will deter-
mine playoff seeding in a 4:30 p.m. game

The Lee Lady Ganders have awakened
their bats.
“We’re just relaxing,” first baseman
Samantha Gutierrez said. “We’re going
up there and concentrating and telling
ourselves to just relax and hit it.”
Lee’s softball team got 23 combined
hits in wins this week over Channelview
and North Shore.
Now 3-6 in District 21-5A, the Lady
Ganders are looking for three more
games of strong hitting today and
Saturday.
Of course, Lee has to win today’s 6
p.m. home game against winless Port
Arthur Memorial to get to Saturday.
If the Lady Ganders win tonight, they
will need a loss by either North Shore or
Channel view to keep their playoff hopes
alive.
North Shore and Channelview are tied
for third place in 21-5A with district
records of 4-5.
North Shore and Channelview are play-
ing today against the league’s co-leaders,
West Brook and Sterling, respectively,
both of which are 8-1 with their only
