Last fall and winter she clerked in
the Rod Front dry goods store on Lee
street. Sho was a good looking
young lady quite intelligent and ap-j
peared to oe about 22 years old. Sho

from Hot Springs. Sho went to Hot

An Editor Robbed.
Mr. W. T. Hawkins of tho Com-
merce Commercial went to sleep on
the Greenville aud Dallas train -whilo
on his way to Fort Worth last 'week
and was robbed of $50. Tho thief
was kind enough to return the pocket
book while the editor slept and there
is no clue. But the thing that puzzles
us is to know how an editor managed
to get hold of $50.

Hon Roger Q. Mills is announced to
speak iu Greenville on Saturday June
11. The prohibitionists have invited
Hon. D. B. Culberson and Hon. W. S.
Hcrndou to speak here also on the
Barac day. The indications arc that it

the Dick Hubbard Fire Co at the
firemen's parado and ball at McEin-

Assistant Chief Engineer John
Wilt of the St. Louis Arkansas and
Texas and his corps of engineer
drove their locating stakes within the
city limits yesterday the last stake
being three-quarters of a mile within
the Hue. If the location made is
adopted the road will coma into Fort
Worth from the north crossing the
river between the bridge aud the
water-works. Other lines "will be run
and completed by next week and the
week after that grading will begin at
a point near Greenville and at Fort
Worth also. The company bas deter-
mined to build tho road as rapidly as
possible and with that cud in view
will put two corps of engineers to
work cross sectioning at either end
and build the road in both directions
to a junction. Tho first location made
seems to bo satisfactory to tho engi-
neers but after the other lines aro run
thoy will bo better able to say. It M
more than probable that the great

clerking for R. K. Lane for several
yeans has accepted a position as trav-
eling salesman "for a St. Louis boot
and shoe house. He is now in St.

For the past few days the weather
has been clear and beautiful with tho
temperature ranging from GO to 85 de-
crees. This is favorable for harvest

Indian Territory Mr. Joe Farrow was

them a Spencer rifle. While looking
for the horses Mr. Satcher fired a shot
at a crow perched on n low scrubby
oak about 75 yards distant not seeing
Mr. Farrow whom it seems was du a
direct line beyond tho tree in which
the crow was perched. After finding
tho horses they started out for an
evening drive for deer thinking that
Mr. Farrow would go down and take
a stand in the bottom as he had done
before. Returning to camp late in
tho evening they tailed to see or hear
an) thing of Mr. Farrow so they began
blowing the horn thinking he was
lost in tho woods. Then they fired
their guns and getting no rc3ponc
thev started out on a search which
thev continued till midnight but
failed to hear Anything of their friend.
In the morning as soon as it began to
get light they renewed their search
finding Mr. Farrow lying on his face
with a bullet hole through his iiead
about G50 yards in a direct lino from
where Mr. Satcher had shot at tho
crow. The accident has caused the
deepest gloom to overshadow the
town. Mr. Farrow was tho son of Dr.
Farrow and a half-brother to Dr.
Huudley. Everybody that know him
loved him and 'was his friend. Tho
saddest thine was that ho was killed
by his best friend. Thero were novcr
two'yonng men moro attached to each
other than were Mr. Farrow and Mr.
Satcher. It was common to hear some
one express an opinion about the ex
isting friendship between the two.
Whilo wo offer words of consolation
to the bereaved parents and relatives
wo extend to itr. aatcner our warmest
sympathy.
