farmers and ranchers who qualify may
have their land taxed on the basis of
Productivity rather than Market Value.
Productivity valuation may lower the
taxes on your agricultural or open-
space land, but you must apply for the
special valuation this year before May 1.
To find out if you qualify and where you
should file applications, contact your
new county appraisal district, or local
tax offices in appraisal districts which
have postponed implementation.

Two horse training
sessions by profes-
sional trainers will
highlight the annual
Horse Short Course at
Texas A&M Univer-
sity, April 4-6.
The first session
will deal with training
horses in the snaffle bit
and willkick off the
short course at 6:30
p.m. April 4 at the
Texas A&M Univer-
sity’s Equestrian Cen-
ter.
Bobby Ingersoll of
Pleasant Grove, Calif-
ornia, will use live
horseback demonstra-
tions to show the step-
by-step approach for
preparing young horses
for competing in the
working cow horse
class.
The second horse
training session will be
the last afternoon of the
short course and will
deal with training the
western riding horse.
Buddy Roulston of Bre-
nham will demonstrate
the basics of bitting,
riding and training hor-
ses to prepare them for
the western riding
class. Demonstration
runs will be made by
"ScotchcttaLee”, win-
ner of the Junior West-
ern Riding Class at the
1981 World Quarter
Horse Show.
Short course discus-
sions begin at 8:20 a.m.
April 5 at Rudder
Center on the A&M
campus, says Bob Gre-

hospitalized in
Galveston
Mary Clements is a
patient in the Intensive
Care Unit at St. Mary’s
Hospital Galveston.
She is undergoing tests
and may have to have,
surgery, according to
her family.
Mrs.Clements may
not receive visitors or
telephone calls and she
may not have flowers
w hile she is in intensive
care. Her address is St.
Mary’s Hospital, Room
454-B, 404 8th St.,
Galveston, Tx. 77550,.
Her husband, J.B.
Clements, is in Galves-
ton with her. Mrs.
Clements became ill
while visiting in Galve-
ston with relatives.
