Sunshine Hill
Home is Burned
The home of Mr. and Mrs. R.
D. McClure of Sunshine Hill was
completely destroyed by fire be-
tween 5:30 and 6 PM. Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. McClure and Mrs.
McClure’s father, Mr. Dolberry
occupants of the recently remod-
eled seven-room modern home
had gone to Wichita Falls. No
one was at home when the fire
was discovered by neighbors.
Nothing was saved, the family
losing not only all furnishings but.

ans 8:6), is the Golden Texas.-
This distinction is brought out
in this selection from the Christ-
ian Science textbook which will
be read: “In Science man is the
offspring of Spirit. The beau-
tiful,'good, and pure constitute
his ancestry. His origin is not,
like that of mortals, in brute in-
stinct, nor does he pass through
/ material conditions prior to
reaching intelligence. Spirit is
his primitive and ultimate source
of being; God is his Father, and
Life is the law of his being” (.-
63).

Officers Installed
at Luncheon Meeting
..Members of the Texas’ Centen-
ial Club held its annual Friend-
ship Luncheon, Wednesday, May
6 at 1 PM in the basement of the
First Methodist Church.
Mrs. W. M. McLaughlin, presi-
dent, welcomed the members each
of whom introduced her guests.
Mrs. W. E. Lowry, program
chairman, presented Mis. R. H.
■King of Harrold who showed two
delightful; motion pocture fitos,
“Colonial Homes of Virginia” and
“Evangeline’s Country”, the lat-
ter centering about beautiful and
historic places in Louisiana.
Mrs. W. G. Black installed the
new officers who will serve dur-
ing the coming year. They are
as follows: Mesdames Ray Mills,
president; R. H. King, first vice
vice president; J. F. Ford, second
vice president; J. B. Minton, sec-
retary; G. B. Crow, treasurer; W.
E. Lowry, historian; W. M. Mc-
Laughlin, parliamentarian; W. M.
Edwards, critic.
Mesdames Lowry and W. M.
Edwards led a brief memorial
service in tribute to deceased
members, family and friends.
Mrs. Lowry presented gifts to
the outgoing president, Mrs. Mc-
Laughlin and to those participat-
ing in the program.
Mrs. Mills gave a brief
and announced appointment

will assist in the activities for the
year 1953-54. Mrs. J. W. Tinnin
dismissed the assembly with Mary
Stewart’s “Collect”.

Former Electron
Dies in Missouri
News was received here
week, through Mrs. Harold Ham-
mond of WiJhita Falls, of the
death of her father, Fred Hall,
age 77" in Dexter Missouri from
ja heart attack. Funeral ^services
were held May 4 in the First
Christian Church in Dexter. The
Rev. Walter Smith, officiating.'
The deceased was employed as
engineer with the Texas Company
on the Bywaters Estate lease
west of Electra, 20 years prior
to his retirement eight: years ago.
Five of his children, Mabel,

tragedy but arrived too late to
do any good. Reports indicate
that the couple had some insur-
ance on the property. The grief
stricken family are said to be
staying at the home of Mr. Mc-
