If people had to make a living with
paper (as I do) they would be more careful
with wasting it and save more waste paper
around the home and office. We have prom-
ise of a better pick-up system, so let’s all co-
operate.
So the women have taken to pipes dur-
ing the cigarette shortage I Don’t they know
that a pipe is never cool, mellow and sweet
smoking until until it stinks like a gut wag-
on on the way to the incinerator ?
Strongly contending that prohibition
only aggravates cases of excessive drinking
I point to three tragic deaths on the high-
ways near here within the last month.

about blue stamps and want more shoe

Well, listen to what Sgt. Rusty McClure, who
is in China says about the situation over
there regarding inflation: “One good old
American dollar buys the equivalent of four
hundred dollars in Chinese money and eggs
sell for twenty dollars each.” Reducing this
to terms of home buying and you find that
Biddie’s cackle berries are in the “upper
bracket” and during Christmas when eggs
reached the height of a nickel each, Mrs.
Housewife decided they were too high and
did not use so many and now they are down
about twenty a dozen less than a few days
ago. So now we ask you ... is control bet-
ter than inflation?

looked as if the card had been made in a mud-

said it was the best Christmas present he
had ever received. Many of the boys remem-
bered us here at The Star, for which we are
greatly appreciative. Mickey Delashaw, USN,
sent a picture of his ship and the crew.
One of professional character came from M.
Sgt. Harold Cunningham, member of a photo-

of Westminister Abbey on the outside, and
A Walt Disney cartoon of their company on
the inside. Another from Pvt. Roy L. Reid,
of the 82nd Airborne Division shows they
have been in Africa, Sicily, Italy, Ireland,
England, France, Holland and Germany.
Still another was from T. Sgt. Leo Halibur-
ton who is way down under in Australia, and
while his was of Australian manufacture was
distinctly different from ours. We know you thanks and appreciation
have seen or have received these cards and
how proud you must be to have been remem-

And won Victory,
Victory over sin, death and the
