and Bob Turpin of Monahans,
and several grandchildren.

Edward Schlaffke to W. P .Lincoln by Deed dated the 15th day of January, 1949, and

Mrs. Bessie Turpin of Hous-
ton, 83 year old former resident
of Harrold, died Monday in a
Houston hospital following
lengthy illness.
Mrs. Turpin was bom Oct. 11
1885, in Bellevue. She and her
husband operated a grocery
store in Harrold from 1918 to
1940.

the beginning, all bearings being magnetic and containing a calculated area of 196.3

THENCE South 66 degrees 30 minutes West, 950 feet; THENCE North 12 degrees 07
minutes West, 566.4 feet to .the North lino of Block No. 219; THENCE East with said
North line, 990 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,-containing 8.01 acres of land, less
three acres of land heretofore sold to the City of Electra and described in Deed dated
December 5, 1917, recorded in Vol. 93, Page 79, Deed Records of Wichita County, Texas,
the above description surrounds and includes said three acre tract, and this tract
containing 5.0-1 acres of land; AND
The following approximately two acres out of Subdivision 219, Waggoner Colony
Lands in Wichita County, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows: COMMENC-
ING at a point immediately East of the cattleguard where the road now leads into the
Power Plant; THENCE South ten feet; THENCE along the line South of the ditch now
in existence, a distance of 1220 feet to an established point; THENCE continuing on a line,
out at an angle, an additional approximately 300 feet, more or less; to a point where a
comer is established and from which a fence runs North to the end of the present dam;
THENCE along the same, back to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, containing an estimated
two acres; AND
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land out of Subdivision 219, Waggoner Colony
Lands in Wichita County, Texas, being approximately two acres, described by metes and
bounds as follows: COMMENCING at a point immediately East of the cattlcguard where
the road now leads into the power plant; THENCE South 10 feet; THENCE along the
line South of an established point; THENCE continuing on a line, out at an angle, an
additional approximately 300 feet, more or less, to a point where a comer is established

5 per cent of the bld. Tho check ahal! bo payable to City of Electra, Texas. If the bid is
not accepted, tho check will bo returned to tho bidder.
City of Electra reserves the right to reject all blds.
If highest bid is accepted by City of Electra, successful bidder will bo notified, and
bidder shall have 30 days from the opening of blds to pay tho balance of the purchase
price in cash.
Salo of said lands shall bo surface rights only, all mineral rights have been or will
bo reserved.
First Tract above described Is presently subject to a Grass Lease expiring December
31, 1968, and City will give possession Zof said tract January 1, 1969.
Second Tract is subject In part to a tenancy by courtesy in favor of Charles Dfcane
to a 250 ft. x 250 ft plot out of said tract. This tenancy may be terminated upon 30.days
notice to tenant.
City will furnish to successful bidder on First Tract an Abstract of Title from
platting of Waggoner Colony Lands (January H, 1906) to date of opening of blds.
City will furnish Owner’s Title Tolley In an acceptable title company to successful
bidder for ourchanc of Second Tract in an amount at least equal to purchaser’s bid.
City of Electra warrants title to the tracts offered for sale, and same shall be sold
Iree and clear of all liens or encumbrances.
Each bid submitted shall be dearly marked so as to indicate whether it is few
purchase of First Tract or Second Tract, and said blds shall be submitted for total dollar
amount (not on acreage basis).

The tea table was laid with
ecru lace over yellow and cen-
tered with a yellow floral ar-
rangement flanked by minia-
ture dolls dressed in yellow
costumes. White and gold milk
glass appointments were used.
Miss Nancy Cooper presided
at the punch service. The pun-
ch and dainty tea cookies fur-
ther enhanced the chosen color
scheme of yellow and white.
Hostesses alternated in dis-
playing the many lovely gifts
presented to the honoree. Shar-
