ry is hopeful of
keeping it intact.

moves in this dir-
ection was the in-
corporation of the
village on March
17, 1971.
Exhibits will be
set up in the tree-
shaded outdoor park
in the center of
town and in one of
the old commissary

Trade Days Expected To Help Save
Historic Village In Louisiana
FISHER, LA.-Trade
Days have been sche-
duled every third
weekend of every
month through Decem-
ber in this pictur-
esque sawmill village
in the heart of
Toledo Bend Lake
country near Hodges
’Gardens.
Purpose of the
Trade Days, a flea
market to buy, sell
and trade antiques,
treasures and trash,
is to raise funds
to preserve the his-
toric village, which
at one time was one
of the most import-
ant sawmill towns
on the Kansas City
Southern Railway.
Sponsor is the Fis-
her Heritage Foun-
dation, a non-pro-
fit organization
dedicated to preser-
vation of the vill-
age.
The village, which
is one of the last
of the company-own-
ed sawmill towns in
