On March 3Jst a Southwestern Life reprcaantgtiv« secured
the application of Orrin M. Battle of Marshall, FTexas, for a $10,-
000 Double Indemnity policy.
Aptil 1st—Application was received at Home Office.
April 10th—Having received satisfactory Inspection Report
the application wgs approved. .
April 11th—Policy No, 92 71 was mailed agent.
April 17th—Policy delivered to,Mr. Battle.
April 9th—The Company received completed Proofs of
Death and check for |20,000 (double the face of policy) was mail-
ed, within an hour in settlement of the claim.
May 3rd—The Company received the following letter from
Mrs. Battle: . >, 1 ’
This acknowledges receipt of Check No. 76383 of the South-
western Life Insurance Company for >20,000.00 on the Marshall
National Bank, Marshall, Texas, which is in full settlement of
Policy No. 92271 on the life of my husband, Orrin McRee Battle,
who waa accidentally drowned in Caddo Lake April 22nd, 1922,
only nine days ago.
“This is indeed a very prompt settlement, in vipw of the fget
that Mr. Battle applied for this policy on March 31st, lj)22, and
had only had same in his possession five days before his death.
“Thia was a >10,000 policy with a Jlouble Indemnity .Acci-
dental Death Benefit Clause, and for which he gave notes cover-
ing the first premium. I herewith hand you my check for <318.50
covering these notes, and thank both you and your good company
for so prompt a settlement.”
