Personalities were recently selected for the 2005-06 school
year at HHS. The high school student body selected the following:
Best Dressed-Jessica Enriquez and Ysmael Salazar; Most School
Spirited-Enriquez and Matt Blalock; Friendliest-Holly Acuna and
James Harter Alaniz; Most Respected-Enriquez and Brandon
Fennell; Most Beautiful and handsome-Enriquez and Salazar; and
Mr. and Miss HHS-Enriquez and Salazar. The faculty selected
Enriquez, Blalock and Jimmy Henry as the Most Likely to
Succeed students. Miscellaneous personalities were captured by
the following students; Prettiest Eyes-Blalock and Donna Jo
Griffith; Best Smiles-Steven Adams and Enriquez; Class
Clowns-Adams and Savanna DeLeon; School Flirts-Adams and
Kelsey Brightbill; and Students Driving the best vehicles-Blalock
and Kama Perez. The HORNET staff will publish the
personalities in the 2006 yearbook.
BOOTS WERE SCOOTIN’ all around HHS this past Friday
when the students showed their spirit to the theme of "Boot the
Bobcats”. Students wore cowboy, hiking, go-go, general working
and combat boots to school to show their Hornet spirit for the
football game with the Newcastle Bobcats.
A Giant Jack-O-Lantem wants to be in your yard this
coming, Halloween season. The varsity and junior high
cheerleaders are selling tickets for 50cents each. The drawing will
be held on October 21 during halftime of the Woodson/Homet
football game. One doesn’t have to be present to win. A great big
"THANKS” to Jay and Denise Rich for donating this holiday
yard decoration.
All Sophomore and junior students are scheduled to take the
ASVAB test on Wednesday, Oct. 19 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in
Mrs. Sandy Blalock’s room.
All Eighth grade students are scheduled for testing by Region
IX on Thursday, Oct. 20, in Mr. Thomas’ room. Testing will be
held from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. under the direction of
Principal Craig Templeton.
The School Board meeting will be held on Thursday Oct. 20
beginning at7 p.m. in the boardroom across from the cafeteria.
Volleyball action this week begins with the junior high team
traveling to Northside on Monday, Oct. 17. They will begin
playing at 5:30 p.m. The varsity and TV teams will host Northside
on Tuesday, Oct. 18 with games beginning at 5:30 p.m. On
Saturday, Oct. 22, they will travel to Windthorst and begin action
at 12 noon.
Football Action this week will include the junior high team
playing Megargel on Thursday, Oct. 20, beginning at 5:30. On
Friday, Oct. 22 they will travel to Windthorst and begin action at
12 noon.

Darren Scott Monroe, a 24 year old male was arrested in the
600 blk of S. Bailey on Municipal Warrants. He was taken to the
Electra City Jail. He later paid fine and was released.

Sharika Hargrove, a 19 year old female was arrested in the
600 blk of N. Moore for Municipal Warrants. She was taken to
the Electra City Jail and later released after paying fine.

Patrick Goodard, a 25 year old male was arrested in the 300
blk of S. Bailey for public intoxication. He was taken to the
Electra City Jail and later released.

Carlos Talbert, a 28 year old male was arrested in the 600
blk of N. Dallas for outstanding Wichita County Warrants. He
was later taken to the Electra City Jail and later transferred to the
Wichita County Sheriffs Office.

Senior Jimmy Henry, son of Fred and Lisa Hemy of the
Waggoner Ranch and Tina Bearden of Iowa park is in the
spotlight this week. He has attended Harrold school for two years
and claims Quanah as his hometown. Henry participates in
football, basketball, track, golf, UIL academic events and is a
member of the FFA chapter and the HORNET staff. He serves
his class as treasurer. He enjoys being with friends during his
spare time. His favorites include a ‘67 Chevrolet, the color green,

2005. Tigers are midway
through the district schedule with
three wins and will host the
Childress Bobcats here on
Friday. We missed connections
with the Tiger Field House and
apologize for the lack of stats on
the Olney game. Tiger firns were
on their feet for most of the
