NEW TRAILER: Members of the Electra High School Theatre Department and sponsor
Janis Blackwell is shown with the group’s new trailer the group was able to purchase with
donations received from local businesses and local people. The trailer will be used to
transport costumes and equipment for workshops. The group will be performing the play
Dearly Departed on November 17, 2005.
Hello Electra,
Here are are already in the second six weeks of school. *
School is going great. We have some new personnel and a new
group of Head Start and Kindergarten students. We hope you will
remember to watch the traffic around the school especially at the
3 p.m. traffic around the school especially at the 3:00 p.m. The
streets are one-way around Dinsmore in the morning and
afternoon. Please do not park on both sides of the street and allow
your students to come to you as they are dismissed from school
each day.
We will continue to collect soup labels, anything that is
Campbell’s and Box Tops for Education. You can also designate
Dinsmore as your school of choice on your Target/Visa card and
we receive a rebate when you use that card.
We had great attendance for Grandparents week. We have a
special math Mystery Night, Tuesday, October 18 when students
and parents can come dressed in costumes and enjoy fun math
activities.
We will be having things the students have done in Kids
Korner starting with poems from third graders in Mrs. Fisher’s
:lass.

the local First Baptist Church to
leave for an afternoon visit to the
Museum and Chapel and Apache
cemetery at Fort Sill in Lawton,
Oklahoma.

Retired Col. Bill Kent met
with club members as he started
the club's special tour of the
Quadrangle area in front of the
Museum. He said Fort Sill was
home to the 7th and 10th Calvary
units and explained the history of
the officer’s quarters, especially
the Sherman House. The Club
toured the Episcopalian Chapel
and the barracks area and the
Museum.
Col. Kent said Fort Sill was
first known as Camp Wichita, an
old Indian village and was
selected by General Sheridan as
a site for a military post. The
10th Calvary was ordered there
to establish and build the camp in
July 1869. It was named Fort

of Geronimo and Quanah Parker,
two famous Indian chiefs, at the
Apache Cemetery which is also
