Spanish* Fort
Saint Jo, June 6th—The only
run that Spanish Fort was able to
get off Saint Jo was when Tipton
caught a fat inside ball for a
home run. Phillips scattered the
7 hits of the Fort boys, nager let-
ting two hits come in the same
inning except once. Saint Jo got
only 6 hits, but they were able to
hit in the pinches and made one
run in the fourth and 2 in the fifth.
Howard for Spanish Fort struck
out one and walked two, but
Saint Jo hitters were not able to
do much with his underhand de-
livery.
In the fourth, Pedigo walked, V
Phillips singled, then on a double
steal, Pedigo scored and Phillips
went to^ third on a miscue at
second. In the fifth, singles by
S. Pedigo and Davis, followed by
a double by Hundley netted two
more runs. J. H. Phillips, Saint Jo
twirler, passed one and whiffed
nine. The Spanish Fort boys were
able to get more hits off Phillips
than any other club in this league
