Mrs. Gray was a devoted wife and
mother and has left a living epistle
of her upright character in her
well disciplined family. The seed
sown in darkest hours by a Christian
mother will some day bloom and
bear. May God in his wisdom com-
fort the motherless home.
"Let us remember man is born

to be at the house of mourning than
the house of mirth, for by a sad
countenance the heart is made glad.

On Thursday evening of last week
a group of young ladies met at the
Baptist church and organized a Y.
The following officers were
Mrs. D. W. Williams, coun-
cellor; Mrs. J. P. Janeway, vice
councellor; Virginia Atkins, presi-
dent; Ruby Hodges, vice president;
Irene Merchant, secretary-treasurer;
Vivian Haralson, pianist; Lena Ball,
personal service chairman; Lona
Atkins, chairman of Group 1; Paula
Hunter, chairman of Group 2; Gertie
Smith, reporter.
Those present ware very anxious
to really do something for the Mas-
ter. What wuld our homes be with-
out organization and co-operation ?
Why should we ot use as much sys-
tem in God’s work as in our homes
or in the business world?
We invite every young lady in
town above the age of sixteen, and
especiaaly those of Baptist belief to
meet with us at the Baptist church
on Thursday night, September 10th.
Let’s win a great victory for God
this year.

Miss Eula Priddy of Noeona be-
came the bride of Mr. Wm. B. Ab-
bott of Wichita Falls Sunday morn-
ing, August 23rd, at the Priddy
home, with Rev. S. M. Williams of-
ficiating. A very impressive ring
ceremony was used.
The wedding was made more at-
tractive by the interior decorations
of ferns and cut flowers. The bride
was very beautiful in an amber tan
satin faced crepe dress with access-
ories to match, while the groom
wore conventional black.
Mrs. Abbott is the pretty and ac-
complished daughter of Mrs. Verdie
Priddy. She finished Nocona High
School in 1921 and since then has
devoted her time to study in the
West Texas Teachers College at
Canyon City and teaching in public
school. Mr. Abbott is a former
student of the University of Texas
and is at this time connected with
the Jefferson Insurance Company of
Wichita Falls.
Only the immediate members of
the family, Miss Cyril Martin of
Nocona, Miss Mary Janeway
Wichita Falls and Seyman Hedge-
peth of Montague were present.
After a short honeymoon to var-
ious points in Oklahoma, Mr. and
Mrs. Abbott will be at home to their
friends at 1010
Wichita Falls.
