is in the southern end of the city

of stopping the flames.
East of South Main street the dis-
trict is settled principally by poorer
people. Just west of the Katy tracks

At that hour it was believed that
there is no chance to stop the flames.
Dallas has sent fire fighting equip-
ment and an appeal has been sent to
Waco for further relief The dam-
age at this hour is fully a million
and a half dollars, with prababilities
of it being much greater.
