beautiful Texas wall decor. They say everything is bigger
in Texas, and that was certainly true of Lecretia’s heart.
She was a very loving and forgiving person, and was com-
pletely unselfish, always doing and buying for others. She
loved children, and always wanted one but could not due
to having cervical cancer at age 25. She was also the tough-
est woman you could imagine, successfully beating cancer
three times prior to her current diagnosis of esophageal can-
cer. Through it all, she kept the faith and always displayed
a positive attitude.
Lecretia loved angel wings and had several pair hanging
throughout her home. She also displayed a picture of Jesus
above her bed since the last diagnosis. She shared with her
sister in law several months ago that she was comfortable
knowing that she would be with Christ when she died, and
that she talks to God all the time.
Lecretia is survived by her husband Tim Holden, two
brothers, Tobby Davis of Burleson TX and Tracy Davis of
Granbury TX and her dad Joe Davis of Burleson TX. She
also has several step-brothers and sisters, a number of which
Lecretia wasn’t aware of until recent years.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday May 14th,
2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Everman, with
Pastor Jim Tucker officiating.
Arrangements were with Coker Funeral Home. Online

Lecretia Lynn Holden
November 16,1961 - May 9,2019
Lecretia Lynn Holden went home to be with her Savior
Jesus Christ on May 9th, 2019. Lecretia was born in Ever-
man, TX on November 16, 1961 to Jes-
sie Lloyd Hall Jr and Margaret Sue Holt,
both preceding her in death.
At age 23, Lecretia met Tim Holden,
marrying him two years later on Novem-
ber 22nd, 1986. They would have cele-
brated their 33rd wedding anniversary
this year.
Lecretia loved movies and television.
She could tell you about virtually any
movie, actor or actress and has copies of
nearly 1000 movies/DVD’s. When re-
cently asked which of her movies was her
favorite, she said “all of them”
She loved to camp and fish. She was featured in Bass
Masters Magazine on the Lunker page for catching an
11-pound bass on her kid-like Zebko 33 rod and reel versus
a bait caster.
Lecretia absolutely loved the holidays. She would
dress up every Halloween waiting on kids to show up even
though she had no children
of her own. At Easter, she
would dye eggs and buy Eas-
ter baskets for many kids. At
Christmas she would deco-
rate literally every room of
her home including the bath-
rooms. She even decorated
for Thanksgiving. She had
enough holiday decor to fill
a 20’ by 12’ storage build-
ing. People would drive by
her home and even stop and
take pictures in front of her
holiday decor!
She also loved animals,
and animals loved her! She
often took in stray animals,
one of which still lives with
them today after 11 plus
years.
Lecretia enjoyed cook-
ing and sewing prior to her
being put on a feeding tube
approximately 7 years ago
but would still jump in and
help cook even though she
could not partake.
Lecretia loved Texas
and showed her Texas pride
with an abundant amount of
