Motion of the plaintiff, Bethanie
Morris, that John Morris, defen-
dant in divorce and injunction suit
in the Sixteenth District Court, be
foun<| in contempt through alleg-
ed violation of the injunction or-
der of the court is to be heard
here Saturday by Judge Pearman,
business in the Gainesville court
permitting- JUDge Pearman is en-
gaged in the trial of Harry Shaw
at Gainesville on a charge of mur-
der in the death of Jack Grundy
and unless this case can be dis-
posed of before Saturday he can-
not come here to hear the motion.
Reorganizes Elm Ridge Club
Activities for the new year in.
the Elm Ridge Demonstration Club
were set in motion Thursday af-
ternoon by Mrs. Edna W. Trigg,
' county home demonstration agent.
The club was reorganised from its
last year status. Officers had beert
elected by the local group, with
Mrs. T. A. Cole chosen as president,
prior to Mrs. Trigg's taking up
the work for this year.
A new scope of work was out-
lined, many projects , of which will
take the same course as those of
llhst year.
J. R. Fielding Dies Suddenly
Burial at Prairie Mound
J. R. Fielding, age 71, who was
TouncT dead in h field near his home
late Tuesday afternoon and who, it
is thought, sdffefed u stroke of ■par-
alysist was buried at the Prairie
Moq.nd cemetery at 4 p.' m. Wednes-
day. The funeral services w?re con-
ducted by Rev. Mr. Bloodworth of
Denton at Argyle and a large crowd
wa" in attendance. Fielding had been
in comparatively good health and
had not complained of an illness it
is said. Physicians who examined the
body after it had been found declar-
ed that death was caused either by
paralysis or heart disease.
Fielding was born in Georgia, A-ug.
10.' 1852. He lived there until about
2Ii years ago wheTi he and TiTsTarn-
ily movbd to Texas- For the past 15
years he had made his home near
Argyle.
He Is survived by four daughters,
Mrs. Nora Warren of Waco, Mrs.
Mirfnie Bassett and Mrs. Rosa Field-

resentative from the Southwestern
Division of the Red Croea, whose
headquarters are in Fort Worth,
spent Wednesday and Thursday
with Miss Martha T. Juve, coun-
ty Red Cross nurie. The object
of Miss Kennedy’s visit Was to
inspeet the work which la being

into this work, and to make nec-
essary adjustments-

Denton County, and assisted in the
physical examinations which were
given in the Justin school- .
A new phase of work was in-
troduced into the activities of the
Junior Red Cross by Mias Kenne-
dy. She is urging that the mem-
bers send yarn, leather, beads, and
reed to the Indian reservations in
Arizona, New Mexico, and Colo-
rado rin order that the Indian boys
and girls may make them into
pieces of their distinctive Indian
art Enough material* f#r two of
each article may be eent. with the
assurance that one article will be
sent to the boy or girl here.
“We want to impress upon
American s<hool children the im-
portance of preserving this early
American art. It is going to be
put up to the juniors in Dent,on
schools to help keep thia Indian
art alive.” Miss Kennedy said.
This project will be carried on
in connection with the school work
of the Junior Red Cross. - —
The visiting representative
stressed the importance of
Junior contributing to the educa-
tion of these Indian children. Re.
quests will be made to the chil-
dren here to send books to the In-
dian boys and girls on these res-
ervations. The work will be spon-
sored by Miss Juve.
