It is a Maroon job which tells
the following motorist: "20-16
--- 10-7."
ROYAL ROASTED:
The aggies not only turned
on an old tormentor. IT's
Darrell Royal, in defeating his
football team a first time in
11 tries. 10-7, but they saw
to it that he personally suf-
fered the last minutes of 1967.
Royal, the fellow who told
the writers and some Orange
bumper buffs they were nuts
for dreaming up and pushing
"1967, Year of the Homs,’’
was the man who neverthe-
less took the blame.
Attending the Cotton Bowl
party, at which both the vic-
torious Aggies and Host Ala-
bama were honored guests,
Royal and his friends were
not forgotten.
Happy people, deliriously
happy folks, kept going to the
bandstand, commandeering
the microphone. They would
shout for quiet. Then, looking
at their wrists, they would
announce: "There are exactly
42 minutes and 15 seconds
left in ‘The Yearof the Homs.’
Then, the crowd roared.
Every single, cotton-picking
time, they roared. And yell-
ed, "Gig 'em!" Yes, how
sweet it was'
Or, "Burn. Darrell Baby.
Bum.”

newspaper ads. Get the bill-
boards decked out in Maroon
and White. Give ’em hell at the
office, the coffee breaks and
at the club.
As one maroon bumper
sticker exhorts. "How Sweet
it is — Texas 10-7."
Only a couple days after the
Aggies smashed Texas, a
bumper tag read 'The big-
gest Aggie Joke: 10-7." Then
there is the Maroon sticker:
"I Wonder Where The Orange
Went - 10-7."
And, another which pro-
claims: '*1967. Year of the
Aggies —— Sorry T-Sips."
And, one even gives the Long-
horns equal billing with Paul

AGGIES RIDING HIGH:
The Texas Aggies a re feast-

And, who can blame them?
Few people can conceive the
pure joy the grads of that

University of Texas 74 times
in football.
When UT's Bill Bradley
completed that interception to
a Maroon shirt at rhe Aggie

that Thanksgiving battle at
Kyle Field, Old Army was
winning its 18th game in 74
years, 10-7.
