The De Leon City Council met in a position of Interim Chief of Police,
called meeting on Thursday, July 18, Norma Locke seconded the motion.

Mayor Kent Boswell called the
meeting to order at 5 o'clock p.m.
Councilmembers present were
Doyle Welch, Jeanette Damron, and
Nonna Locke. Matt Stockman and
Robert Gilder were absent.
Mayor Boswell announced at 5:02
p.m. the Council would convene into
Executive Session under Section 2
(g) Personnel of Vernon’s Texas
Civil Statutes.

open session at 5:30 p.m.

THIS BOBCAT..........was shot by Buddy Whitt in his grandmother’s
back yard Friday morning. A dog ran the bobcat up a small tree in Mrs. G.
C. Stacy’s back yard. She lives four miles north of Desdemona. Whitt, who
is 14 years old, used a .410 shotgun to shoot the bobcat from the tree, which
was near where a baby calf was being bottled.
The public hearing will be held on August 8, 1991 at 12:30 p.m. at the District's

for the committee to issue contracts
for special events during the week.
The parking for the festival is one of
the major areas that is very
important to the success of the show
This contract is issued to the De
Leon Livestock Association. Have
you wondered who decorates the
festival stage? It is the E.S.A.
Sorority. The festival contracts
with the sorority to decorate the
stage and present the coronation of
the queen program. Also, the
festival issues contracts to 25 to 30
local citizens to operate the entrance
gates, night and day watching, and
clean the festival grounds.
Contracts are issued to the western
star for the Tuesday night program
and dance, and also gospel singing
for the Thursday night program.
Meals for the out-of-town bands that
are a part of the street parade are
served a home-cooked meal
following the parade, served by the
Comanche County adult 4-H leaders,
