Football Team has been announced,

the squad.
Casey Stone was chosen as the
Most Valuable Player on defense.
He is a 5-10,220-pound senior. Casey
is a defensive lineman and was also
named to the First Team Offense at
center.
Stone was also the kicker chosen
for all-district honors.
Census figures released last week
show Texas will gain three seats in
Congress because of its rise in
population.
Sunday is the end of this year’s
deer and turkey season.

Sudderth and his wife, Anne, live
near Blanket. Sudderth has
maintained a law office in
Comanche for almost 35 years. They
are the parents of six grown
children, Bonnie, Chief Justice of the
Fort Worth Municipal Courts;
Sandi, a Houston banker; Bo, a
student at Howard Payne
University; Sky, a law student at the
University of Texas-Austin; Keith,
who attends Cisco Junior College;
and Ta’ah, a student at Austin
Community College.

Wayne “Red” Swindle, a 69-year-
old Comanche rancher, was killed
early Sunday morning when his
pickup truck rolled over.
He was driving on Highway 36,
eight miles east of Comanche, when
his truck left the road, hit a culvert
and rolled. Officials report the road
conditions were not hazardous at the
time of the 7:25 a.m. accident,.
Swindle had served as Comanche
County Sheriff at one time.
Services were pending at press
time at Hall and Chaney Funeral
Home in Comanche.

The De loon Chamber
Commerce and Agriculture and
Women's Division will have their
annual meeting and banquet on
Monday, January 28, at 7 p.m. at
P.A.R. Country Club.
Nominations are now being taken
for the Man of the Year, Woman of
the Year, and Golden Deeds
Awards.
To be eligible for the Golden Deeds
Award, a person miist be over 60
years of age.
Persons wishing to make a
nomination should issue a written
statement to the Chamber of
Commerce, 404 West Navarro, by
the Monday, January 14, deadline.

There will be a break for lunch.
In the afternoon, dairy heifers,
breeding sheep, market lambs,
breeding beef heifers, and market
steers will be shown.
A total of 133 animals will be
exhibited, the same number as last
year. Entries include 10 -market
steers, two beef heifers, two dairy
heifers, 22 market lambs, three
County Junior Livestock Show will
be held Monday and Tuesday,
January 14-15, at the county show
bam in Comanche for the county’s 4-
H and FFA members.
On Sunday, January 13, all entries
will begin unloading at 2 p.m., and
all animals must be in the bam by 5
p.m.
Monday's show will get underway
at 8 a.m. with the judging of the
breeding swine, market swine, dairy
heifers, breeding sheep, market
lambs, and breeding goats.
The show on Tuesday will begin at
8:30 a.m. with the beef heifers and
then the market steers.
The premium sale will be
