Pekar as executive director.
Pekar grew up in Weimar and
graduated from Weimar High
School. She received a Joseph and
Victor Stanzel Memorial Scholar-
ship. She acquired two associate’s
degrees from Blinn College and
then attended Sam Houston State
University where she received her
bachelor’s and master’s degrees
in sociology specializing in rural
community development.
