Police respond to fight
A large fight was reported to
have been occurring when po-
lice responded to the 1100 block
of South Beauregard some time
around 2:48 a.m., Jan. 17. When
police officers arrived approxi-
mately 10 males and females
were involved in a melee.
Armed robbery
A robbery occurred at a con-
venient store located in the 200
block of East SH 6 around 10:23
p in. Jan. 14. According to po-
lice, a male entered the build-
ing armed. No other information
was available.
Man arrested
A man was arrested follow-
ing a theft that occurred inside a
store located in the 400 block of
South SH 35 around 12:13 a.m.,
Jan. 19. His accomplice was
identified and issued a warrant.
Weapon found in vehicle
A motorist who was operat-
ing a vehicle was stopped in the
200 block of North Durant Street
around 9:21 p.m. Jan. 17. Dur-
ing the investigation, it was de-
termined that the motorist was
unlawfully carrying a weapon
in the vehicle and subsequently
arrested.
Woman issued citation
A woman was issued a citation
for stealing merchandise inside a
store located in the 400 block of
South SH 35. The incident oc-
curred around 2:36 p.m. Jan. 15.

stolen around midnight Jan. 9. A
report was made a few days later
at the Alvin police station.

into the glass-plated front of the
business in a shopping center be-
tween Gordon and Hood streets.
Greg Bell, who co-owns the
business with his father, Ron,
said that the truck crashing into
the store set off the security
alarm.
Witnesses told police the truck
took off and later a sheriffs dep-
uty tried to stop the truck, but the
driver would not stop. A chase
pursued with Alvin PD involved
that went into Friendswood. The
suspect abandoned the vehicle
and was later captured with the
help of K-9 units.
