Sheri and I enjoyed our an-
nual trip to the Fat Stock Show,
otherwise known as the Fort
Worth Livestock Show & Expo-
sition. We didn’t get to see many
DeLeon exhibitors, however, as
the judging concluded earlier this
year than in prior years.
Despite this disappointment
we did enjoy watching the sheep
dogs work, and show horse judg-
ing, and the steer auction. We
also enjoyed touring the exhibi-
tion part of the event finding a
few small items.that we felt at the
time we needed.
Next year, however, we’ll
need to go a little earlier.

We are presenting an inter-
esting letter in the paper this week.
Keith Moon has written detailing
many of his objections to the pro-
posal that the county’s two hospi-
tal districts merge and build a
new hospital. I encourage you to
read it and think about what be
writes.
I am very much involved in
the process of looking into the
hospital district merger/new hos-
pital construction proposal, and
take my word for it, there is much

stirring. While outdoors I have
noticed the mourning doves and
the white winged doves making
their calls, even after the weather
again turned cool. It is a little

of the Mayor’s long article that
This Week’s Weather

totalled 1.10 inches. As the
week’s final weather readings
were taken on Tuesday morning,
rain continued to fall with cooler
temperatures and the possibility
of snow forecast
The following weather read-
ings are taken at the Corps of
Engineers weather station at Proc-
tor Lake. Daily readings are taken
at 8:00 a.m. and reflect weather
activity for the 24 hour preceding
that time.
