The DeLeon Baseball
Association will begin the season
with a meeting on Sunday,
February 10th at 1:00 p.m. in the
DeLeon '-Elementary School
Library. We need lots of help, and
all coaches, parents and interested
parties should attend this very
important meeting.

Hospital
Employee of
the Month
Josie Martinez has been cho-
sen by her peers at the DeLeon
Hospital as their Employee of (he
Month for February.
Josie is a 30-year resident of
DeLeon. Her parents are Eliza-
beth and Bill Gomez. She and
Joe Martinez have been married
forty-one years and are the par-
ents of four daughters, the grand-
parents of eighteen grandchildren
andhave two great-grandchildren
with a third on the way.
September 10,2002, will be
a special anniversary date, mark-
ing her 30th year to work at
., DeLeon Hospital. She has worked
in the food service department
apd became Housekeeping Su-
pervisorin 1973. Josie also helps
in purchasing and sterile process-
ing in surgery.
One example of her dedica-
tion was during the time of heavy
flooding in DeLeon. Josie was
the first one to come and help take
care of the hospital’s flooding
problem, and the last one to leave.
If you have any question
aboutDeLeon Hospital, ask Josie.
She lends a hand daily to every-
one in the Hospital.
Her hobbies are her family
and friends, and helping Joe pro-
duce a bumper crop in his garden
every year. She also enjoys trav-
eling to visit friends and family.
