Potatoes are economical and

guilty to a bit of prejudice or just
plain snobbishness. Here forth is
my confession - I think Instant
potatoes should be gathered from
the shelves and buried deeply In a
large hole, never to see the light of
day or to be served to any indivi-
dual again.
Now that I’ve killed off Instant

few different ways to prepare and
serve the ever present potato.

Mike Moeller, president
of Texas Farmers Union,
told the Green Thumbers
that Farmers Union was
very proud to have worked
with the Johnson
administration in the mid-
60s to create an older
worker program for rural
areas.
“A study by Farmers
Union showed that younger
peole were leaving rural
areas and taking jobs along
with them,” Moeller said.
“Green Thumb was and is
an attempt to provide work
for the older people who
form the backbone of rural
America.”
