Hail Storm Hits
De Leon Area
Area residents were
awakened Monday
morning by a hailstorm
that produced golf ball size
hail and did much damage
to the buildings in De I^eon
as well as the surrounding
area
Also, twisters were
sighted in the area Monday
morning but none
reportedly touched down to

weather, were positioned
at various locations in the
area to keep watch of any
developing hazardous
weather
There was heavy
damage throughout the
city and surrounding areas
to cars with dents and
broken windshields, to
homes and other buildings

roof damage, street lights
broken, and power lines
down.

The hail storm hit
between 6.30 and 6 45 a.m.
and the ground was
covered with the large
hailstones.

Service issued a tornado
warning Monday morning
as a twister was sighted in
the clouds between De
Leon and Comanche.

varied but some reports
were as much as 2.75

As this fine gentleman
described the area, its — -- —
problem* sounded so like 7:30 p.m. in the High School

it was unreal. Some want
progress, some don’t;
some are extremely rich,
while others are extremely
poor; some try to get new
types of industry, while
others could care less. But
as Mr. Schepp talked to American Legion in Texas,
