ner, was the apparent low bidder on
a 4.47-tnile section of U. S. 59 in the
northern part of Panola County.
The firm, one of eight to submit
bids, bid $1,377,538.79 on the four-
lane divided highway which extends
from the Sabine River south to near
Grand Bluff.
Tom Hunter, supervising engi-
neer with the Texas Highway Depart-
ment here, said work on the project
is expected to start about Dec 1. The
contract calls for the project to be
completed in 220 working days.
The contract includes structures
and dirt work. It does not include base
and surfacing which will be done un-
der separate contract expected to be
an additional three-quarters of a mil-
lion dollars.
