The deal is simple. In Hilley’a ad
in The Dispatcher is a numbering
machine, which numbers each ad
consecutively. One ad will be num-
bered to correspond with the number
in the store. If you get that paper,
the money u yours.
The mechanism of these number-
ing machines are very small and lint
from newsprint will often stick them,
causing the machine to lock, conse-
quently all papers will be printed
with the same number until the
pressman catches the trouble and
makes correction. If this happens,
which it will sometime, Hilley must
be protected, so the store will pay
an the first number brought in the
dore that matches the one in the
dore.
