Dear Tarleton Alums...
As 2003 comes to a close and we enter a new
year, the first thing that comes to mind is how
fast it went! And, the older we get, it seems the
faster it did go by! As the New Year rings in and
for weeks afterward, the radio, TV and
newspapers will innumerate for us all of the ups
and downs and passings of the year...and, we
will marvel at the many events that actually took
place during the year and those we missed. And
then, the cycle begins all over again.
Well, before that cycle begins, I want to thank
each of You for the pleasant experience and joy
that I Did Not Miss in serving as the president of
Your Tarleton Alumni Association this past year.
I have been privileged to serve in many varied
capacities over my professional life...some more
special than others. But, being chosen by my
peers and fellow TAA members to preside over
the TAA Board of Directors will go down in my
book as one of the special pleasures that I have
ever enjoyed. I inherited a board of very talented
and dedicated Tarleton alums who made the ride
fun and an exceptional treat. Many thanks and
kudos to each of YOU!
It is also a time to thank many others... Special
appreciation to Paul Koonsman for his untiring
leadership and the members of the AlumniRelations Office, Paula Oxford for keeping me on
track and Lani Fairchild for editing and publishing
this truly great J-TAC magazine...always pressed
for time and space, they get it done! And, veryspecial kudos to the TAA's own Bonnie
Elms, who magically makes things
happen for our Association. Lastly, our
student staffworker, Amanda Albrecht,
a budding young professional already
performing beyond her years. Sincere thanks to
each of YOU!
2004 promises to be another banner year for the
TAA. Your president, Ben Baty, and the TAA
Board of Directors is charged and ready to go.
Please join me in supporting the TAA and your
Tarleton! And, Best Wishes for a Safe and Happy
New Year. Warm Regards and...
On Ye Tarleton
