of years and has wa large circle

Mr. Butler is a son of Mr. W.
E. Butler of De Leon and is well
known here. He is employed with
the Stanolind Oil and Gas Co.

Mrs. Phynia Evans left Thurs-
day, today, for Dallas, where she
will attend the wedding of her
nephew, Hayden Ralph Pittman,
son of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Pitt-
man, Jr., and Miss Margaret
Louise Echert which will be sol-
emnized in the Perkins Chapel
of Southern Methodist University
Friday evening. Reception will
follow at the Melrose Hotel.
Mrs. Evans also attended the
rehearsal dinner Thursday even-
ing.

gown of embroidered tulle over
white taffeta. Her finger-tip veil
of tulle fell from a tiara of pearl
sequins and rhinestones. She
carried a bouquet of white step-
hanotis, centered by a white or-
chid, atop a pearl covered Bible.
Beatrice Mayhon ' of Clovis,
New Mexico, aunt of the bride,
was matrth of honor. Her waltz-
length dress was of gold brocad-
ed faille.
Miss Andrea Baber and Miss
Elizabeth Haney, bridesmaids,
wore waitz-length dresses of tur-
quoise faille, with matching ac-

Shower Honoree
Walter Mazurek, a recent
Bridie, was honored Tuesday
evening, August 30th, with a
tovcly bridal shower at the home
of Mrs O. G. Campbell from 7:30
until 9:00 o'clock.

J. P. Scott, De Leon night
watchman left Wednesday for
Spur, where he will visit his son,
Charles Scott, and family and
Mrs. Ralph Layton. On Thurs-
day, he will leave for Plainview <
where he will visit his grandson, <
Gary Scott, 13 year-old son of
Charles Scott, who is in a Plain-
view hospital suffering from an
attack of polio. He was taken ill-»
over a week ago.

ture of Education”, “What Con-
stitutes an Educated Person" was
given by Mrs. J. D. Roch Jr.,
and Mrs. Feltz Terrill Jr.y
brought an article on “Educa-
tion”—A basis for international
: understanding.

a white lace cloth. The main dec-
oration was two hearts joined
together with an arch made of
bli>e and white mums, centered
with two golden wedding bells.
Miss Morgan served white cake
squares and Miss Patton served
punch. z
Mrs. Johnson presided over the
many lovely and useful gifts.
Miss Kay Campbell furnished
piano solos throughout th eeve-
ning.
