knowledge of computer technology as we search,

Topic: Fixin' Fotos - LIVE!
Happi will demonstrate how to repair and enhance
your photos, including how to handle cracks,
speckles, color corrections, contrast problems,
missing noses, and more. Software used: Adobe
PhotoShop Elements. Happi is the VP/Newsletter
for DGS and a member of the Association of
Professional Genealogists. Her genealogical
research and Heritage Album business is called
Ancestriography.

Upcoming SIG Events
Under the support and guidance of DGS, a number
of Special Interest Groups (SIG) have been formed
to concentrate on specific areas of genealogy. The
following SIGs list their dates, times and meeting
places at the J. Erik Jonnson Central Library.
Meetings are free and open to the public. Other
new SIGs: the Native American Research Group
(NARG), the Advanced Methodology Study Group
(AMSG), and the Writing Interest Group (WIG).
Wednesday, 19 April at 6:30 p.m. in Gates Room,
MacGen Reunion Group (MGRG) will discuss new
genealogy software for the Mac and creating
amazing genealogy charts and reports.
Saturday, 6 May at 10:00 a.m. in Gates Room,
Family Tree Maker Users Group (FTM), General
Information and Data Entry.
Saturday, 6 May at 1:00 p.m. in Gates Room,
German Research Group (GRG), initial meeting.

North Texas The Master Genealogist Users
Group (TMG).
Thursday, 18 May at 6:30 p.m. in Gates Room,
Speakers Roundtable will be discussing Lessons
Learned The Hard Way and Disaster Recovery.
Saturday, 3 June at 10:00 a.m. in Gates Room,

Tuesday, 6 June at 4:30 p.m., Main Floor
Auditorium, DNA Interest Group (DNAIG), initial

Mining Genealogical Treasures will be presented
by three of the country's leading genealogists, Mr.
Lloyd deWitt Bockstruck, FNGS, Patricia Law
Hatcher, FASG, and John A. Sellers. Institute
location will be the J. Erik Jonsson Dallas Public
Library, Downtown Central Branch. Event begins at
6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Library.
In addition to the talks, the Genealogy Section of
the Library will be open for research on Saturday
night to Institute attendees only, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
The DPL Genealogy Section is rated among the
