In the first game of a series of
3 to be played during the Re-
union, Nocona beat Bowie to the
tune of 6 to 0.
The features of the game were
the all round playing of the local
team, the pitching of Corzine,
and last but not least the hit-
ting of Phillips who sewed up
the game for the locals with a
clean 3 bagger with 2 men on in
the last half of the 6th inning.

It is purity and cleanliness of everything
connected with the manufacture of our
soda water that makes our sparkling soda
drinks so appetizing and thirst quenching.
Nothing but real fruit syrup used; nothing
but clean, sparkling glasses; pure, delicious,
rich ice cream; clean, efficient service.
That’s what makes our soda fountain

By the time this issue of The
News reaches the greater part
of our readers the 24th Annual
Reunion of the United Confeder-
ate Veterans and Old Settlers
will be a part of the history of
our city. For 24 yen rs the Bob
Stone Camp has annually met
with us and desperced to their
several homes, Though each
-'succeeding year the roll call here
shows that some have answered
another Roll and will never again
be with their comrades <>n the
old camp ground where they
have met so many times. The
ranks have been greatly decim-
ated during the past few years
and each succeeding year there
are fewer to answer when their
names are called.
The U. C. V.’s and Old Set- „ ,
tiers met in front of the Nocona S. B. Cowell of Whitesboro forig
National Bank at U:00 a. m. and’
marched to the Reunion grounds. j
The address of welcome was de-
livered by Judge Russell and the
response by Capt. T. P. Paine.
After which the band rendered a
patriotic selection.
The committee was fortunate
in securing the *St. Jo band to
furnish the music,

MEETING CLOSED
MONDAY NIGHT
Monday night of this week the
Revival which has been in prog-
ress at rtie Christian Church for
the past four weeks came to a
close. Tnis was one of the
grandest meetings that has been
held in Nocona for many years.
The singing and preaching was
pronounced by many to be the
i best they ever heard. There were
71 additions to the church and
more than 60 baptisms, while
there are some 6 or 8 that will be
baptised at an early date.
The Sunday School increased
from 36 at the beginning of the
meeting to 08 last Sunday morn-
ing. There were over 100 pre-
sent at the Christian Endeavor
last Sunday evening.
■

From out of town there was!
the Hon. John H. Stephens <>1 ‘
Vernon’, Texas. Mr. Stephens
is our member of congress from I
this district. Our next county
Judge, Levi Walker of Montague
and the Hon. Peter Radford of
the Farmers Union made
speeches.
There were special speakers
for subjects before the people.
