According to arrest affidavits
dated May 14, the Shelbyville ISD
school resource officer met with a
sheriff’s office deputy on May 12.
The resource officer explained
he was investigating possible
misconduct of a teacher having
an improper relationship with a
student. After gaining consent to
search the student’s cell phone,
law enforcement ran the phone
through the Cellebrite UFED in
attempts to recover possible de-
leted information from the phone.

new gym bleachers and
scoreboards after the dis-

OK’d a multi-million dol-
lar improvement plan.
The bleacher and
scoreboard improvement
would cost the district
roughly $159,000 and
is part of a five-project
plan trustees approved
Thursday that could cost
the district upwards of $3
million.
Center ISD Superin-
tendent Dr. James Hock-
enberry estimated the
district improvement
plan could cost between
$2.15 and $2.2 million.
The board set a $3 million
spending cap, accounting
for less than half of the
district’s $6,175 million
designated fund balance
for construction.
“I would start being
very uncomfortable with
(spending more than 50
percent of the balance).
We need to protect our
future as well as meet our
current needs,” Hock-
enberry told trustees.
