Funeral services for Pauline
Woods, 89, of Aransas Pass, and
formerly of Beckville and
Longview, were held Tuesday at
member of the Gary Junior Histori-
ans, and Lincoln King, sponsor of
the group. The trophy was in
recognition of the local youngsters'
third consecutive year for being
named a Junior Historian Honor
Chapter. The presentation made
Sunday afternoon following dedi-
cation ceremonies for a Texas State
Historical Marker honoring Walter
Prescott Webb, founder of the Ju-
nior Historians. It was researched
by the Gary Junior Historians that Dawson of Dallas,
led to receipt of the marker, located
at Dotson Crossing on Lake Mur-
vaul.

Club's 1978 Queen Friday night as
the chib opened its riding season at Miss Elizabeth Brooks.

Furrh Cemetery under the direction
of Hawthorn Funeral Home. She
died Sunday in Longview.
Bom May 5. 1925 in Midyett,
she was the daughter of William
Henry and Eva Anderson Thornton.
She was a member of Walnut
Springs Baptist Church, and was
preceded in death by her husband,
Gilmer S. Davis Sr.
Survivors include her sops. Bill
Davis Sr. and Mike Davis Sr., both
of Longview; sisters, Ann Rowland
and Fem Birmingham, both of
Carthage; seven grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.

Home Chapel. The Rev. Ray
